Popover buttons (introduced in FileMaker 13) open a floating panel attached to the button, letting users view or edit content inline without leaving the current context.

Add a Popover Button
In Layout mode, choose Insert > Popover Button. A button appears with a popover panel editor. Click "Popover" to edit the panel content. The panel can contain any layout objects.
